Championship Course – #5
The 12th at Augusta National was the inspiration for this short-but-lethal par 3, one of the most photographed holes in the world.
PAR 3 | HCP 6
- Black: 155 yards
- Gold: 155 yards
- Silver: 142 yards
- Green: 142 yards
Details: A rarity in Myrtle Beach, this hole has a downhill tee shot! Rae’s Creek (site of Hogan’s Bridge, named for the late, great Ben Hogan) runs in front of the green, demanding a high, precise short-iron that must land softly or spin back into the creek.
History: The site of Augusta National was formerly called “Fruitlands”, the first nursery in the south, and consisted of 365 acres. Many trees and shrubs were left behind when the nursery closed, including the avenue of magnolia trees leading to the plantation homes.
